our ICT project implementation experience
We are to answer the following questions as part of our activity 2: (1) What are the factors you need to consider in creating an ICT Project? (2) What are the difficulties you experienced while doing your ICT Project? (3) What kind of content that would encourage or motivate you to participate in a call to action? (4) How will you rate your knowledge in creating an ICT Project? (5) Rate yourself from 1 to 10, which is 1 is the lowest and 10 is the highest. (6) State the reason why you have that rating for yourself?

Our ICT Project for this quarter is to address social issues through the use of modern technology, specifically the internet. There are several factors that must be considered in creating an ICT Project namely: relevance of the topic to be chosen, the given timeframe, and the feasibility. The topic of our project must be a social issue that is being faced in the present since our target audience are the internet users in the present as well. Alongside checking the relevance of the topic in the current society, we must also consider the limited time given to us which is only approximately 3-4 weeks, therefore, we must address a social issue that can give us evident and significant results within this period of time. Lastly, we must make sure that all the plans we make are feasible and effective despite the lack of budget resources.

Throughout the period of our project, there were difficulties faced by our team. This includes the lack of time and budget to expand our audience. Because we only had a short amount of time dedicated to promoting our advocacy through our Facebook page, we had only garnered a relatively small amount of followers. Aside from this, we also lacked budget support to make up for the lack of time and pay for boosting our page throughout the platform. Since we are still high school students, our knowledge of any social issues are still not as extensive as what we would hope for. Our pieces of information are only limited to what we can freely access online.

If I would put myself in the shoes of our target audience, the kind of content that would most probably encourage me to participate in a call to action are those that can give me important and interesting information within the shortest amount of time while still retaining the creativity of the multimedia. A perfect example of this would be infographics or short videos with enjoyable background music. These types of contents would make me interested in the information it contains.

We are finally done with the last stage of our ICT Project and if I would rate myself from 1-10, 10 being the highest, based on my knowledge in creating an ICT Project, it would be at 7. Since I am part of the Generation Z, I am already familiar with the ways to maximize the use of social media to raise awareness. I found it easy to discover and manipulate the tools we can use to enhance our page. However, I am aware that I still lack the needed skills to gain interest from a bigger audience which hindered the effectiveness of our advocacy.

The factors I considered in creating the project are: issues needed to be addressed; types of content to be posted; the target audience; and the time. Since ICT is all about the connection between the real and virtual world, our group has come up with the issue about identity theft—which greatly affects the modern world. Next, we would like to influence people of all ages to be aware of the said topic. We also brainstormed on the types of content and multimedia to be posted to easily grab the attention of every audience. Lastly, time, wherein there is only less than a month to post all contents on our Facebook page and Wix Site, and we have made to post at least 2 contents a day.

The difficulties that we encountered are the Page engagements and reach boosting. Fortunately, the page likes has risen in the 2nd week of January, thanks to the help of my group members inviting their relatives and friends to like our page. Additionally, because the time allotted is little, there is going to be more pressure, that is why we need to think fast on the types of content to post, what design would fit in this topic, and all the data and time track must be finished before the deadline.
In our page, we have posted a lot of multimedia content such as photos, video, news, and gifs to entertain the audience better. But personally, I would like some short and fun quizzes, since I believe that it would catch my attention and further expand my knowledge on the said advocacy.

On the creation of the project, I had little knowledge of course, however, as the time has passed by, it has increased since as the moderator, I did most of the research on identity theft. But there are some things that I am not that familiar with, especially on managing the Facebook page and Wix Site since I am not the one who is in charge. Thus, I would rate myself between 7 - 8 out of 10.

Creating an ICT Project has given me a meaningful experience and also helped me to gain more technical skills and knowledge. It has become meaningful to me because not only do we inform people about identity theft, but we are also able to raise awareness regarding the said issue and help them. Our ICT project mainly focuses on the social issue of identity theft and our main goal is to help prevent online users or audiences from being victims of such.

In creating an ICT project, we first considered what social issues needed to be addressed. Since our ICT subject somehow focuses on our online world, our group considered the issue of identity theft. We also considered how we would make programs and content regarding it. Audience profiling is also very important in doing our project. The medium and multimedia we’d use are also some of the factors we considered.

While doing our ICT project, we experienced some difficulties in boosting our page on social media. On the first few days of our content week, we only have a few engagements and reach. Thus, we were compelled to expand our reach and invite many people to like our page.

On our website and page, we provided various multimedia content all about identity theft. We posted videos, images, news articles, and even gif which would make the online audience more connected and informed on the social issue we’ve chosen. If I were an audience member, I would choose animation content to encourage me or motivate me in a call of action. Animated content would help me catch my attention better and it would be more creative in my view.

Honestly, my knowledge in creating an ICT project is very small at first, but as I helped and collaborated with my group members in creating our project, I would say that my knowledge has improved. I would rate my knowledge now as 7.5 out of 10. My knowledge of creating an ICT project increased also because of the lessons we took in our ICT class. Although I have gained more knowledge in handling our website and page, I still have more to discover myself.

This ICT project has helped not only the audience to learn more about identity theft, but it also helped our group to learn more about the said issue and also in creating an ICT project. Our experience on this project will greatly help us in the future.

Creating an ICT project was a first for me, especially since there were a lot of factors to consider while making it. The first is to conceptualize what you want to advocate on this project, which is for us is about identity theft. You also need to gather authentic data for the credibility of the information that you will be spreading for the awareness of other people. As this is a group project, we need to work as a team, and to avoid conflicts the distribution of work should be clear. Lastly, we also need to consider the platform that we will be using to lay down our work.

Some difficulties that we faced were most definitely the exposure. Creating a new site or page on Facebook will not instantly make your work be presented to others. We promoted our page to friends and family as a start and encouraged others to spread it. It will surely take some time to grow our page as we continue to be active on it.
​
In my point of view, honestly, promos will attract my attention. In my opinion, it is the most practical and realistic way of promoting something. But also, information that I find interesting or useful to me will pique my interest. Another is if it’s beautiful in the eyes, carefully arranged and designed pub mats are very welcomed for me.

I rate myself 7, while doing this project being a group was a big part that we were able to do this project. At first, I didn’t think that there were so many factors to consider making an ICT project. The team guided me on what to do and assigned roles so we can focus on our part and be efficient on it. In creating an ICT project, of course, there are a lot of things to consider. First, we considered the social issue that we would want to address and that is identity theft. Nowadays, this issue is still rampant in our society which is why it is better if we deal with this problem. Next is the target audience of our project. Audience profiling, such as demographics and psychographics, was conducted since it is significant in our group’s project. Time is also one of the things that we need to consider since we were given only a limited amount of time to post our content on our social media page and website.

I guess that the difficulties that we experienced were all related to our Facebook Page, which are the engagements of our posts with the audience and the boosting of our page. To solve the aforementioned difficulties, we decided to invite our friends, classmates, and even relatives, to like our Facebook Page

In posting different kinds of content, our group used different kinds of multimedia which are the following: videos, images, news, and GIFs to engage with our audience so that they will be informed on all topics related to identity theft. In my own opinion, I would be motivated more to participate in a call to action if the posts were more on animations since one of our posts which includes GIF has the highest number of reach and engagements with our audience. This means that animations will catch the attention of our audience and could be more encouraged to act.

Honestly, before doing this ICT project, I only had a little knowledge and information I knew about it. However, as time passed by and with the help of my groupmates, I gradually understood and became more knowledgeable about our ICT project. As of now, I could rate myself as 7 over 10. There’s still room for improvement which I hope in the future, I could better myself.

Our ICT project related to identity theft will help not only our group but also the audience who engages with our page and website. This project really helped us and this could be a great experience that can help us aid in the future.
